Week 24

"Time goes slowly, so slowly" is what Madonna sings in one of her latest hits. How wrong can she be, time flies by faster then Maverick can do one in the movie Top Gun. Fortunately though I'm spending my time wisely, either on my study or other free-time activities. And with the summer holidays in sight there are plenty of barbecues, parties, last-minute meetings etc. to attend. On top of that there are the World Cup matches of ''. Enough to keep a man busy.

Last week started out with a stressfull monday, deadlines and presentations, which in the end turned out to be more relaxed then we initially thought. Tuesday was spend working on assignments and attending classes. At noon, there was the traditional STORES barbecue. Meat and beer, some soccer and ofcourse a big campfire at the end... Oh no wait, unfortunately campus security doesn't allow them anymore. can be found on Flickr: STORES Barbecue 2006.

Wednesday I visited the Vision & Robotics seminar in Ede, together with my future colleague and perhaps supervisor of Strukton Systems. The company, situated in Hengelo (OV) at which I will be doing my internship this summer. More about that and my assignment there, later. The seminar itself was very interesting, although after a while, after finding out the technique behind all products presented is pretty much the same and quite easy to apprehend, it tends to get a bit boring. After a quick, warmed up, dinner I attend the 45th Cantus Scintillae. I'm not going to explain what a 'cantus' is all about, but I guess the photos pretty much speak for themselves.

After an uninteresting thursday, frida was soccer-day. With The Netherlands vs Côte d'Ivoire at 18:00h we decided to combine it with, again, a barbecue. The match itself was kind of nerve-wrecking, with the Dutch (again) slipping through to the quarter finals. We were lucky, because the end-score of 2-1, might as well have been 2-3... Nevertheless we enjoyed ourselves. We stil have to practice the Wuppie Wuppie song though. Photos can be found in Roelfina's Coppermine gallery.

The weekend was a quicky with lots of sleeping out and working a shift at Ariens Zorgpalet. Yesterday, because of father's day, we went out to have dinner at 'De Fusting' after which we watched X-Men 3: The Last Stand at Cinestar. Great movie I must say and don't forget to wait for the teaser till after the credits!

Pfff, that was week 24 of 2006 again, maybe next time I should split up my posts into smaller and more frequent ones. If I can find the time in between all the meetings, deadlines and other activities that is.
